Commentary on the Gospel of
Great things come from humble beginnings. A tiny mustard seed becomes a big tree that can shelter the birds of the sky. A small amount of yeast when mixed with flour will make bread to feed people. Jesus’ power and presence, the kingdom of God, is just like that his kingdom belongs to those who are weak, the poor, and the humbled and the least in the society. Do you wonder why Jesus urged his disciples to imitate little children if they want to belong to the kingdom of God? Lord, make us humble enough to accept the small and weak in the society and at the same time look into ourselves as one like them, so that we too may share the same kingdom.
