Commentary on the Gospel of
Today’s Gospel gives us a strong warning, to be careful, so that we enter eternal life. No one can say who or how many will be saved but what Jesus tells us is to enter through the narrow gate. Do all the possible things to enter through the narrow gate and that we have only one chance given to enter the life and once the door is closed by the master it is never going to be possible for us to enter life. First reading gives us ways and means to enter Life. St. Paul says by obeying our parents, by taking care of our children and giving them inspirations to follow the Lord, by obeying our earthly masters as if we are obeying Christ, and by treating who are entrusted to our care with love and concern we are making ourselves for the final reward that Jesus has promised.
