Commentary on the Gospel of

Sid Ching, cmf

We have this idea of helping the poor and doing a lot of charitable work if we become rich. But when we do have money, we say that we do not have enough for ourselves. We continue to have the desire to help the poor when we have more money. Yet what is more? There is something inexplicable with money: we believe that we can easily detach ourselves from it when we don’t have it, but it clings to most of us once we have it, or better yet, it is we who cling to it when we have it.
