It goes against all logic that the first Christians from the beginning of the Church should present Jesus as born out of wedlock, that Mary his mother was found to be with child before she and Joseph lived together, unless it was indeed how it was. With the birth of Jesus, God inaugurated a new era in history—the coming of the Kingdom as the definitive offer of love and life to humankind. Mary as well as Joseph had to agree to and cooperate with the invitation from God for his plan to become a reality. We too are asked by God to contribute to the building of his Kingdom on earth.
