Commentary on the Gospel of
Many of us are like Zechariah, who saw and heard God’s messenger but refused to believe and had become mute. We see and hear God’s message to us in our life, but we do not have the voice to proclaim it to others. Many of us, Catholics, have become mere consumers… we listen to the Word of God and receive the body of Christ in the mass, and we are content. But hearing the Word demands that we be not mute, but to tell others the Good News we have received; receiving the sacraments is to embody the mission the Lord has entrusted to us.
