Commentary on the Gospel of
Frequently, when we are at home, in our families, with our friends and our parishes we worry about little things, silly arguments amongst us or fixing on the defects of the others.
When Jesus reports on the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the Masters of law, he touches something so deep in us that does not let us live his gospel. Jesus gives us an actual lesson: following him, that is, happiness, is to focus our senses, heart, mind and strength in faith, mercy and justice.
Faith means trusting in God, in his Kingdom, in life. Mercy means looking at each person as God does. Justice means moving towards the fraternity of all humanity.
Then, let us pray to the Lord asking Him to stand firm with peace at the same time as we try to live Jesus’ teachings.
