Commentary on the Gospel of

Iñaki San Nikolas Guimón, CMF
An angel, angelos in Greek, is a messenger. The most important, and what we celebrate today, are not the figures of the archangels but the message they spread all over the world: to see the heavens opened, do not stand looking to we-don’t-know-where; look at Jesus and you will understand what heaven and God is about.

God is the medicine (Raphael) we need nowadays. God’s power (Gabriel) is the Cross, the door opened for everyone to begin again, to start looking around and keep on with Jesus’ revolution of servants and the poor.

Today’s liturgy invitation: do not imagine God. Look at Jesus, taste his medicine and his almighty Love of forgiveness and justice. You can also be an angel for other ones, but remember: in this case, the messenger is not more important than the message: Christ, Son of God.
