Commentary on the Gospel of

Robert Kycia cmf

We still have time

Being near to Jerusalem, the people with Jesus imagined that the kingdom of God was going to show itself then and there. So, as they were listening, he went on to tell a parable about his leaving. The most important fact in this parable is not the pounds given to the servants but the king himself, who has been accepted or rejected by the servants. Jesus is like a man of noble birth who went to a distant country to be appointed king and afterwards returned.

We, as the disciples of Christ, still have time to “do business” by making proper choices in our lives, until he returns. And then the kingdom of God will show itself in all its glory, avoiding those who rejected his king.
