When you pray, say "Our Father": it is the absolute novelty, which brought us Jesus. We couldn't do it alone. We were like a child, hand in the hand of his own dad, in a square full of people: we were taken and put on his shoulders. Now the child can see and participate in what is happening in the square, now he is safe! So, with regards to our experience as creatures, tenderly loved by God, but besieged by evil, inside and outside of us.
We were unable to "convert" ourselves from the evil conduct and "accomplish" what is right and just, as is required, in the first reading, of the wicked one to save himself. But we, despite the weakness of sin - as baptized - live in the prophecy of the "new heart" and of the "new Spirit" of which the prophet Ezekiel himself spoke. So therefore, on the World Day dedicated to Prayer that we are living, we renew the awareness that, thanks to Jesus, we can walk among the pains of this world, carrying in our hearts the certainty of being children dearly loved by a Father.
