FEAST OF THE HOLY TRINITY - GOD IS LOVE

The feast of the Holy Trinity, which we celebrate today, is not a day to explain the "mystery of the Trinity", but to remember how our life is marked by the love of God, because as St. John tells us "God is love".

As people made in the "image and likeness of God" we are also born to love. It is the only thing that makes us similar to Him. As Albert Schweitzert says: "The most important thing we have in our life are the traces of love that we leave behind when we leave this world", because everything else will be erased. St. John of the Cross tells us: "at the end of our life we will be examined for love", "because without it we will be nothing" (1Cel 13,1-8).

The true understanding of God is to be found in the love of our neighbour, so if we truly love him, we will find him together with our brothers and sisters. St. John tells us: "It is not possible to love God whom we do not see, unless we love our brothers, whom we meet every day.

Let us think, let us reflect, that we are all filled with God's love, and with the closeness of one in nature and triune in persons. And that this is what can give us the strength to follow the way of Jesus in our life.

We adore you Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we contemplate you, we praise you in this mystery of love, communication and communion.

(Psalm 32) Blessed are the people whom the Lord has chosen as his inheritance.

A BLESSED SUNDAY TO ALL
