Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. From the 17 – 23rd of October 2011, the Catholic Parish of The Transfiguration of the Lord in Krasnoyarsk (Siberia, Russian Federation) celebrate its 100 years as a church. The parish is currently entrusted to the Claretian Missionaries.
Fifty one martyrs? But who cares? It all happened 75 years ago, worlds apart from you and from me . There are certain qualities in the friends of God that transcend time and historical circumstances, making them our contemporaries, our fellow travellers. With their lives and especially with their death they conquered the future, placing themselves right into the frontiers of our dreams.
This coming Saturday, July 16th, the Claretian Missionaries celebrate the 162nd anniversary of their Foundation. St. Anthony M. Claret gathered in Vic (Catalonia, Spain) five young priests filled with missionary zeal. The missionaries are now in 65 countires, willing to bring the Gospel to everyone.
