Commentary of the Gospell

February 25, 2023

During the season of Lent, we are called to renew our baptismal commitment. In baptism, we share in Christ’s death so that we may likewise share in his resurrection. Renewing that commitment means a lifelong process of conversion, striving to follow Jesus more closely and more faithfully each day. But we do not have to do this alone. Jesus is always with us, helping us to change our hearts. If we turn to God, asking for help to follow Jesus’ path, God will be with us to refresh on our way. God will restore us, giving us the rest we need to go on.

We will also have the support of our brothers and sisters in faith. As God’s people, we work together to live as the Body of Christ, striving to be on in Jesus in whom we were baptized. If we seek to live in peace and charity with our brothers and sisters, without prejudice or anger, we will share the Lord’s table at the banquet of heaven.
