Reflection on the Gospel – Thursday, July 17, 2025
Dear friends,
When was the last time you felt tired?
Maybe life, which sometimes brings too many things at once, left you feeling overwhelmed.
Maybe it was because something didn’t go as planned—you expected something to happen, but it didn’t. Or something happened that wasn’t in your plans at all, and you were left feeling confused.
Maybe you had worked hard for a change that never came, and now there’s no sign it ever will.
Maybe it’s the exhaustion of an entire season… or the disappointment in someone you trusted.
In any of these situations, the Lord comes to meet us and says: “Come to me.” Come, all you who are tired, depressed, forgotten, burned out, overwhelmed, at your limit, suffering, bitter from the past, anxious in the present, or unable to see the future… “And I will give you rest.”
Jesus doesn’t magically take away our troubles, but He gives us the grace to carry them. His presence alone comforts, strengthens, and encourages. His humble heart is contagious—and with that, everything becomes more bearable, as we wait in hope for the moment when, in God’s time, a new door will open.
Thank you, Lord,
for your presence that gives me strength.
Your risen presence,
that has passed through the cross,
is able to pierce through every night.
I trust in You.
Your brother in faith,
