Reflection on the Gospel – Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Dear friends,

Some people, because they know so much, end up despising what’s small. Or get so caught up in big plans that they forget the details. Or, trying to control everything, lose the ability to trust…

The Gospel invites us to have the attitude of children. Not in terms of immaturity or being spoiled, but in their openness to new things, their capacity for wonder, and their joy in starting something fresh.

It’s not really about how much you know, but about how you approach life. Some people know very little and think they know everything. Others are highly educated but can’t open themselves to faith. In truth, the more we know, the more we should be able to marvel at the wonders around us—and the more we should feel moved to contribute something meaningful to the world. Wonder and commitment are two doors that can lead us to faith.

To believe in Jesus as the Son of God. And to trust that He reveals the Father to us—and with that, the secret of life itself. This takes the heart of a child, the simplicity of someone humble. Faith always requires a leap—and we can only take it with great humility.

Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of faith.
I believe, Lord—
increase my faith.

Your brother in faith,

Luis Manuel Suárez, CMF
