Commentary on the Gospel of
The Canaanite woman in today’s gospel shows us an example of faith. It looks as though Jesus was trying to ignore her but her persistence paid off. The disciples wanted Jesus to respond to her just to make her shut up and stop bothering them. Jesus though recognised her faith and her daughter was cured. We too may be guilty of trying to ignore people looking for help, especially people we see as different to ourselves. Today let us be more attentive to those we come into contact with and respond to their needs.
