Commentary on the Gospel of
On leaving the synagogue, Jesus enters the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John and behold they encounter Simon’s mother-in-law, sick with a fever. Jesus heals her and she immediately begins to wait on them. Jesus was welcomed and he restored the health of the sick woman.
Christian homes can be models of hospitality and kindness to the needy. God grants us resources so that we may use them for His glory and have them placed at the service of our brethren. Furthermore, by taking some time off to pray in the mountains; being in touch with the Father, Jesus teaches us what matters the most: the fount of the ministry and authentic witnessing.
