What's in store for he Sochi 2014 Olympics?

Unrest--and Terrorism?--in Russia

Everyone has heard of the political unrest in Russia and the potential threats to the safety regarding the Winter Olympics of 2014. Some are even remembering the 1972 Olympics in Munich where Israeli athletes were held hostage. Terrorism is a real threat, but we can all pray and hope for the best.

Why was Sochi even chosen as the site for the Olympics?

Sochi was chosen about seven years ago. Why hasn't the location been changed as danger there presents itself? I don't claim to know, but I only offer up prayers that peace and safety will prevail. And I offer this poem as a prayer.

Four years in coming--

Don’t disappoint us, Sochi.

Peace in and peace out.

A Simple Hope for the Winter Olympics

Yes, it's simple. But it's real. I'm hoping and praying for the best. And for peace. We could all do with some good news. Maybe the 2014 Winter Olympics will give us just that.
